Changes to Court Proceedings due to COVID-19

Pursuant to Supreme Court of Florida No. AOSC20-23, all grand jury proceedings, jury selection proceedings and criminal and civil jury trials during the period of March 16, 2020, through July 17, 2020 have been suspended.



Pursuant to Governor DeSantis Executive Order 20-137, all mortgage foreclosure sales set through July 1, 2020 have been canceled.  All eviction causes of action related to non-payment have been suspended through July 1st as well.



The Courthouse building is closed until further notice due to a HVAC water main break that occurred on May 29th.  However, essential Courthouse operations have been moved to the Clerk’s Government Center second floor offices at 590 S Commerce Ave.

Injunction for Protection Orders

Baker Acts

Marchman Acts

Risk Protection Orders  

first appearance hearings



All court-related payments, including Child Support, are now being accepted in person in the Government Center at the location noted above. Fines and payments can also be made over the telephone, by credit card, or by check mailed to Clerk of Court, 590 S. Commerce Ave., Sebring FL 33870.

All Civil Court functions are also operating out of the Government Center.



The Pro Se office is also taking self-help customers in the Government Center.



The Pre-Trial Release office is also operating out of the Government Center.



Effective June 1st, Marriage Licenses are being issued to all in-county as well as all out-of-county applicants, no restrictions.
